Synopsis

Panopticon VI took place in Brighton in 1985, during the Grade-inspired suspension period for the show. It was originally planned to be the Society’s most ambitious event to date, but for a number of reasons, in part a US event booking the then current cast and crew, but mainly a reluctance of attendees to travel to the South Coast (Brighton had less than a year earlier been the sight of the IRA bomb attack on the Conservative Party Conference) the numbers were not forthcoming. The event had to be down-scaled and some of what was offered in this booklet did not happen. Whilst the event was a success for attendees it left the Society with a huge fiscal deficit.
