Dr Who and the Daleks

This section of the archive covers the early years of the Daleks and in particular their first outing on the big screen. Whilst the Daleks represent only a small part of Doctor Who's heritage, it is undeniable that they are probably responsible for the initial success of the programme which then enabled it to go on and do so much more.

We have picked items that cover a broad range of DWAS's life - the oldest being from 1977. As well as reference items and extracts from Celestial Toyroom there is also material that most may not have seen before, hailing from the special event the Society held with Riverside Studios in 2005 to celebrate the two AARU movies.
