The Time of Angels. You're singing a Happy Song!

A unanimous thumbs up so far, and I certainly have to agree. A wonderful episode, I just hope that "Flesh & Stone" manages to live up to "The Time of Angels".

Kate Griffiths: Well that was wonderful. There was nothing it didn't have - it was so atmospheric, creepy, spooky, brave and funny. I'm glad they decided to bring River Song back; she is such a wonderful character and a good foil for the Doctor, she had some really good lines. The caves they were in were so good you could really feel like you were there. The Doctor's character is coming along well he's got a touch of arrogance but he's a very likeable, and very funNy at times. Amy Pond is his ideal companion. Can't wait for next week.

Ivan Philpot: I think this is the best so far in this series. The feel of each episode is becoming more grand as we go along, yet the intimate fear has not been lost. It was questioned in the room that old adversaries seems to be a common theme and would we ever see something new, but this was seen as a minor niggle to an impressive start.

Mark Taylor: Easily the best episode of the series so far! Partly because it is a good story but it also it has enough time to develop over the two episode format without being rushed. Very few single episode stories work for me really well, either are just weak or as with last week's Victory, there was not enough time to deliver them satisfactorily.

Angles was so enjoyable, the dialogue between River, the Doctor & Amy was superb, the tension built up nicely (sure it needs to be accpeted that the Angles will never have the same impact as the first time we saw them) - all worked well. Yes there were a few small things I can pick over (such as the sound effect of the torch light moiving? just plain odd) but nothing that needs a rant over: and nothing is ever perfect.

The biggest complaint is not the fault of the production team at all. The BBC's incensitive promotion for the next show before the credits had even rolled ! Bad enough that they ruin the credits but now items popping up over
the actual programme, that is not on at all! And finally, the one thing that does still really bother me each week is the naff new theme tune arrangment (when we hear it over announcments). Just go back to last year's version please. But roll on next Saturday!!
