Hartnell back up on iplayer!

The 16 minutes of William Hartnell's "Desert Island Discs" is now back up online. The BBC have also announced other finds, including the programmes of Louis Armstrong and the Rev. W. Awdry.

William Hartnell "Desert Island Discs" episode found! - updated

Well, at least in part.

The BBC have made rediscovered audio tape of some 16 minutes of William Hartnell's episode of "Desert Island Discs", hosted by the legendary Roy Plomley.

The programme was last broadcast on the BBC Home Service on August 23rd 1965. To listen to this marvellous find just click on the iplayer link.

DWAS Auction

The Society recently announced it was to place a blue heritage plaque at Riverside Studios to commemorate the life and career of Verity Lambert. This was dedicated by Waris Hussein on 23rd July 2014 and commemorated with a special screening of ‘An Adventure in Space and Time’ the same evening.

Doctor Who Bike Trail

A new version of the theme now available.

Ultra Records has released Austrian dance trio Frontload’s newest track, "Dr. Who". Their latest beat combines the group’s signature electronic sound while modernizing the Doctor Who theme. The owners to the publishing rights of the theme gave their stamp of approval by clearing part of the track. 'Dr. Who' is a follow up to the group’s previous popular track titled Rebels (Wake Up).

Dark Times audition announcement

Last year Doctor Who Online Adventures, in association with Anglia Ruskin University, DWO and Planetary Productions put together a brand new full cast, hour long audio drama in aid of the BBC Children In Need appeal. In the end the production raised over £70k and this year the same production team has been commissioned to tell the next chapter in the trilogy.
