Dr Who at the Movies

Sunday 26th May 2013 is when you can see the two AARU Dalek films, starring Peter Cushing as Dr Who, in HD, on the big screen. The films have been remastered and this will be an early opportunity to see them in the new format, and a rare one to see them in a theatrical showing. The venue once again is Riverside Studios in Hammersmith.

You can hear Beryl Virtue on the latest edition of Desert Island Discs. She talks about her career and the many shows she has worked on including Men Behaving Badly and Sherlock. Beryl also talks about the writers she represented in the 1960s including Terry Nation, and how she changed his BBC contract so as to give the rights to the Daleks to him, rather than the BBC.

The Snowmen Final Ratings

The final ratings for 'The Snowmen' show a figure of 9.9 million making it the fourth most popular show on Christmas Day, adding 2.3 million to the overnight figure.

'The Snowmen' Overnight Ratings

The initial overnight ratings show that Doctor Who was watched by 7.6 million viewers which is 34% of the TV wathcing audience. The show was the fifth most popular on Christmas Day. the more accurate consolidated ratings should be available in just over a week.

Gerry Anderson

There cannot be many of us who grew up in the 60s, 70s or 80s unaffected by the work of Gerry Anderson, who sadly died yesterday aged 83.
