CT 386

CT issue 386 is in the post and should be with members shortly. Merchandise offers in this month's magazine are available to buy online now - please click the link above.

CDs and DVDs

Both our new signed merchandise offers are now open on the Merchandise pages. These are for the new Dalek Master Plan CDs, the second volume of which is signed by Peter Purves, and for 'The Kamelion Tales' DVD. The latter will be signed by both Isla Blair and Mark Strickson. As Mark works outside the UK right now we will need time to get the covers to him for signature and then returned.

CT 386

Celestial Toyroom issue 386 has gone to the printer. You can see a preview in the CT section.

It is Saturday 5th June and it's another bright sunshiny day. How will this affect the overnight ratings for Doctor Who tonight I wonder?

CD and DVD Offer

As well as copies of 'The Mutation of Time' CDs signed by Peter Purves, we are now able to confirm that we will also be offering 'The Kamelion Tales' DVD (Planet of Fire and The Kings Demons) signed by both Isla Blair and Mark Strickson. These will be available online and by post very shortly.

Always keen to make DWAS membership more than just a magazine, in the next CT we will have some offers on signed merchandise for members only:

Amy's Choice

Well, I really liked this one. I think it is because it was just that bit different. I enjoyed Vampires of Venice too, but in a different way. It was after all, quite formulaic and very similar to other episodes from the new series - such as The Shakespeare Code, or The Unquiet Dead.

Century Falls and Dark Season

Whilst browsing through Amazon (well what else is there to do on a Saturday apart from wait for Doctor Who?) I was very pleased to see that the 1990s children's series 'Century Falls' and 'Dark Season' have been released on DVD by the BBC. Both of course are from the pen of RTD and are, in my humble view, some of the finest children's TV of their era.

The Angels

Well I am actually relieved now. After last week's episode, I thought it was a big improvement.

I liked the bit about The TARDIS not making the noise. I liked kicking the globe like a football. I liked the TARDIS appearing in space to rescue River. I liked the soldiers being clerics. Yes, I liked.

Overnight Ratings

So Victory of the Daleks got 6.45 million which, as second placed show on TV yesterday is a superb result even if the actual numbers are down. I have always felt that being shown in the spring means that Doctor Who is going to produce mis-leading overnight figures. The final consolidated results for The Eleventh Hour - at over 10 million, would seem to confirm that.
